This event is still a go despite the Saturday Ski Events being cancelled.

However, due to rapidly changing snow conditions, please watch this page and your email for changes in venue, etc.

11 am – Check-in, park, pick up bib, unload gear, and get ready to ski

11:50 am – Official Program at Start Line

Noon to 2 pm – Ski! Don’t forget about the Costume Contest

2 pm – Event closes

This is where Birkie dreams begin!

The Canadian Birkebeiner Society is excited to partner with Silver Skate Festival to host the Barnebirkie Family Ski. These winter fun activities are where Birkie dreams begin and are for both children and their grown-ups! Did you know? “Barne” translates to “child” in Norwegian!

Your Barnebirkie ski registration includes:
*Classic-technique – 500 m, 1.5 km, or 3 km – track set ski course with official start
* Barnebirkie race bib
* Finish line snacks and refreshments
* Hand-made birch wood medal!
* Ski Patrollers and certified medical personnel
* Love and admiration of dedicated volunteers

Online registration is open until Saturday, February 10, Noon.
On-site registration is available.

Best Viking Costume Contest
Enter for your chance to win awesome prizes! Dress up like a Viking or your favourite superhero, fuzzy animal, anything goes!

Post your photos to social media or email your picture to coordinator@canadianbirkie.com. A boat load of warriors will select the winners and let you know who conquered the contest.
