The City of Edmonton offers grants to help with winter fun!

Winter 2022-2023 Placemaking Events & Activities

Update (September 2022): The 2022 Neighbourhood Services funding program had a milestone year in supporting community groups. We received a significant increase in Neighbourhood Services Funding applications from previous years to enhance several events, initiatives and programs to increase neighbourhood connections. Please note that the 2022 Neighbourhood Services-Micro and Connections Grants program is now closed. Applications for 2022 funding will no longer be accepted. Alternative funding opportunities can be explored on the City of Edmonton Grants and Funding webpage and our 2022 Grants Opportunities Spreadsheet.

The 2023 application opening date will be communicated soon. Note that applications received for 2023 funding will not be reviewed until after January 1, 2023. Please reach out to your Neighbourhood Resource Coordinator if you have any questions.

Placemaking events and activities support neighbourhood vibrancy and connection, and winter events are no exception. Communities that play together are stronger!

Neighbourhood Micro-Grants are available for winter events funding requests up to $500.

Neighbourhood Connections Grants are available for winter events funding requests for $501-$2500.

Both grants are open to residents, business owners and operators, and non-profit organizations. Activities must build and increase community connections, as well as engage and involve different people in the neighbourhood(s). Initiatives can include block parties, community arts projects, and neighbourhood social or recreation activities.

Please note that the Neighbourhood Services Ice Surface Grant was available on a one-time basis in 2021. Applications are not being accepted for 2022.
